1997 Hong Kong will be returned to Mainland China. The event on 4 July seems to shorten the time of 1997. We hope that the British Government should respect human rights and take whatever action to be accountable to the people of Hong Kong.
MR. PETER C. K. CHAN (in Cantonese):—Mr. Chairman, being the mover of the motion, I would like to thank those who have expressed their views. I hope in the near future we can once again discuss the motion.
The question on adjourning the Debate sine die was put.
The motion was carried unanimously.

CHAIRMAN (in English):-That concludes the business of today's meeting. Members are reminded that the next meeting of the Council originally scheduled for 11 July 1989 will now be held on Tuesday, 18 July 1989 at 2.30 p.m. This is of course because of a large number of members going on a visit to Canada.
