HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL
1. MR. HOWARD H. W. YOUNG, CHAIRMAN OF THE RECREATION SELECT COMMITTEE, moved the following motion:—
'RESOLVED that the Public Health and Urban Services (Public Pleasure Grounds) (Amendment of Fourth Schedule) (No. 3) Order 1985 and the Public Swimming Pool (Designation) (No. 2) Order 1985 be made under section 106 and section 42A of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.'
He said (in English):—Mr. Chairman, as Chairman of the Recreation Select Committee, I rise to move the motion standing in my name:--
'RESOLVED that the Public Health and Urban Services (Public Pleasure Grounds) (Amendment of Fourth Schedule) (No. 3) Order 1985 and the Public Swimming Pool (Designation) (No. 2) Order 1985 be made under section 106 and section 42A of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.'
The purpose of the amendment By-laws is to include eight new venues and to delete two existing venues in the Fourth Schedule (Public Pleasure Grounds) and at the same time to include one swimming pool in the Fourteenth Schedule (Public Swimming Pools) of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.

The motion was carried unanimously.
MR. BERNACCHI (in English):----Mr. Chairman, on a point of order is the recorder of the votes out of order or is it because you consider it easier to take motions by show of hands?
SECRETARY (in English):--Mr. Chairman, it is very difficult to ascertain whether the recorder is ever out of order, after many meetings I ascertained that it was in order immediately prior to the meeting, when we tried it in the meeting, it was out of order, but from a point of clarification the Standing Orders do say that the vote shall be taken by show of hands. (laughter)
2. MR. JOSEPH Y. S. Chan, Chairman of the Libraries Select Committee, moved the following motion:—
HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL
RESOLVED that the Public Health and Urban Services (Designation of Libraries) (No. 3) Order 1985 be made under section 105K of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.'
He said (in Cantonese):—Mr. Chairman, I rise to move the motion standing in my name:-
'RESOLVED that the Public Health and Urban Services (Designation of Libraries) (No. 3) Order 1985 be made under section 105K of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.'
The purpose of the Order is to amend the Schedule to the Designation of Libraries (Consolidation) Order by deleting the Arts Library premises (item 34).

The motion was carried unanimously.
