HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL

MRS. NELLIE FONG (in English):—Mr. Chairman, I would like to support the amendment on the basis that when we divide our work of the Urban Council into different select committees, we are putting our trust in members who have been given such authority, for example, the Liquor Licensing Board. But if we bypass the Liquor Licensing Board, we are undermining the trust and the authority we have given to the Board. I think that is wrong. We would like such affairs to be referred to the Liquor Licensing Board so that they can discuss it, consider the implications and probably make more proposals for the Council before we decide on it.

MR. SULKE (in English):—Could I please move that the question be now put?

The question on Mr. CHAN Chi-kwan, Peter's motion was put.
