HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL 11 December 1984

1. MR. SHUM CHOI-SANG, Chairman OF THE MARKETS AND STREET TRADERS SELECT COMMITTEE, moved the following motion:

'RESOLVED that:-

(a) a Declaration be made under section 79 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132 to amend further the Declaration of Markets in Urban Areas first published in the Gazette as Government Notice Number 1620 of 1960; and

(b) the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance (Amendment of Tenth Schedule) (No. 6) Order 1984 be made under section 79 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.'

He said (in English):—Mr. Chairman, I rise to move the motion standing in my name:

'RESOLVED that:---

(a) a Declaration be made under section 79 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132 to amend further the Declaration of Markets in Urban Areas first published in the Gazette as Government Notice Number 1620 of 1960; and

(b) the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance (Amendment of Tenth Schedule) (No. 6) Order 1984 be made under section 79 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.'

The purpose of this Declaration is to amend the Declaration of Markets in the Urban Areas to include the following markets:-

Chai Wan Temporary Market

Fat Kwong Street Temporary Cooked Food Market

Kowloon City Temporary Market

Sai Wan Ho Market

Sai Wan Ho Temporary Cooked Food Market

To Kwa Wan Market

Tung Yuen Street Cooked Food Market

and to delete the following markets which are no longer in operation:—

Ho Man Tin Market

Kowloon City Market

Sai Wan Ho Temporary Market

To Kwa Wan Temporary Market

The purpose of the Order is to add and delete the corresponding markets as stated above from the Tenth Schedule to the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance Cap. 132.

'RESOLVED that the Pleasure Grounds (Amendment) (No. 5) By-laws 1984, be made under section 109 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132'

He said (in English):-Mr. Chairman, as Chairman of the Recreation Select Committee, I rise on the motion standing in my name:-

RESOLVED that the Pleasure Grounds (Amendment) (No. 5) By-laws 1984, be made under section 109 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132'

The purpose of the amendment By-laws is to impose a fee of $12 per half hour per court for use of air-conditioned squash courts which will be provided by the Urban Council in the near future.
