It is relevant to mention here that in connection with the present amendment, an amendment to Section 56(2) of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Chapter 132, was approved by the Legislative Council on 5 May 1982 to empower the Urban Council to make by-laws for imposing requirements as to the precautions to be taken against fire in such premises.
