Renewal of Licence

HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL

4 Three months before a licence is due for renewal, the licensing staff will notify the licensee in writing and at the same time forward application forms to him for completion. The licensee is also requested to return the completed forms to the Licensing Office within 10 clear days from the date of the letter.

5 On receipt of the completed forms, licensing staff will undertake the procedure laid down in para. 3(b)(i), 3(c), 3(d) and 3(e).

Application for Transfer of and Amendments to Licence

6 On receipt of properly completed application forms, licensing staff will:-

(a) within 2 days acknowledge receipt of application in writing; (b) for an application relating to transfer of licence, bar-endorsement or extension, refer the application within 7 days to the Commissioner of Police for comment, giving a 14-day period to reply, at the expiry of which it will be assumed that there are no objection and then (c) follow the same procedure as listed in para. 3(c) & (d).

7 Application for change of club premises for club liquor licence will be treated as application for new issue.

8 A liquor licence is valid only when the premises, other than those occupied by clubs, are covered by a general restaurant or light refreshment restaurant licence issued by the Urban Council unless otherwise exempted by the Board.

Applicant's attendance at Board Meetings

9 When an applicant is invited to appear before the Board he may do so personally or by sending a legal representative or a duly authorized agent.
