Permanent notices will be put up exhorting the public to keep these places clean. Sufficient litter bins will be provided on these beaches and thereabouts. More anti-litter squads will be assigned to patrol the beaches on weekends and public holidays.
(c) Publicity
The operation will be well covered by publicity through press releases, radio broadcasts, and short features shown on TV and cinema screens. Locally, shows will be staged from beach to beach on Sundays and public holidays as focal points of attraction. A Publicity Working Group is well under way in working out details of publicity items and activities.
Throughout the operation, emphasis will also be placed on community and schools involvement. It should be stressed that the success of this operation will depend largely on the co-operation and participation of the general public, without which the U.S.D.'s effort alone can achieve little.
