HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL

CHAIRMAN (in English):-I am obliged to all the Chairmen of Select Committees who have responded to my invitation. My intention was to enliven proceedings; otherwise, we would have had a deadpan debate which is not a debate in the true sense, without a counterpart response. In fact, the Chairmen of Select Committees really stuck to their last, and this is noteworthy. Of course, one Chairman was unduly exercised about the remark of another Chairman; the exchange was interesting; it was lively; but it was still not in accordance with Standing Orders. (Laughter). Even so, I know you will want me to allow that part to stand because this is the first time we did this extra exercise and it was exciting.

ADJOURNMENT - 4.45 P.M.

CHAIRMAN (in English): So now Council will stand adjourned until Tuesday, 18th February, 1975 at 4.00 p.m. when I will exercise my right of reply.
