HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL
I would be very happy to stand up at the next Council meeting and let Mr. Hu know how many people have been resettled or how many were found to be in need in that particular month, if that is what he wants in the way of follow-up.
CHAIRMAN:-This will be in order next month. The actual method by which I am to give information in future will be "to lay communications before the Council" which I can read out. Dr. BELL next month may take the whole action on her shoulders under "Other business" as far as the follow-up to Mr. Woo's motion is concerned.
Ladies and gentlemen, before we proceed to vote on this motion, it has been pointed to me by Mr. BERNACCHI that there is a textual error in the motion. If you refer to it, the next but last word is "normal". This I am informed should read "lawful". Therefore, in putting this motion to the vote, I will read out the correct version first:-
"That domestic resettlement should be given, if needed, to the dependants of persons killed and to persons seriously incapacitated and their dependants, as a result of injuries received during the disturbances while going about their lawful business."
The question was put.
The motion was carried with 21 votes for and 1 abstention.
ADJOURNMENT - 5.20 P.M.
CHAIRMAN:-That concludes the business of this meeting. Council stands adjourned until Thursday, 30th November, 1967, at 2.30 p.m.
