HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL

MOTION.

THE CHAIRMAN moved the following motion:

THAT the Standing Orders of this Council adopted at the meeting of the Council held on 28th June, 1955 be amended as follows:-

Standing Order No. 23

Amendment

(i) by re-numbering Standing Order No. 23 as No. 23(1) and amending it by the addition of the words "and of any of its committees of which he is a Member" after the words "a meeting of the Council".

(ii) by the insertion of the following new sub-paragraph:-

"23(2) A Member who without valid reason is absent three times in a period of three months from any one Select Committee shall be reported to the Standing Committee of the Whole Council who shall have power to remove his name from that Select Committee".

He said I rise to move the motion standing in my name concerning amendment of Standing Order No. 23. The amendment now proposed has been agreed by the Standing Committee of the Whole Council. In accordance with Standing Order No. 24, this motion, once seconded, must stand adjourned without discussion until the next ordinary meeting of the Council.

THE VICE-CHAIRMAN seconded.

ADJOURNMENT —— 6.00 P.M.

CHAIRMAN: That concludes the business of this meeting. Council stands adjourned until Tuesday, 1st September, 1964.
