HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL
I support Mr. CHEONG-LEEN whole-heartedly in what he said, as he did on behalf of the Markets Select Committee, that speeding up the Programme for Market Reconstruction would certainly be a step in the right direction. This is a matter which has concerned the Markets Select Committee for a few years and I would like to be recorded as supporting what Mr. CHEONG-LEEN has said in that connexion.
I cast my vote in support of this motion.
CHAIRMAN: -I would like to say, with respect, that I also consider this Supplementary Hawker Report to be a most valuable document, and I congratulate the Chairman of the Select Committee and the Members on their contribution towards a solution of one of the Colony's urgent problems.
The question was put.
The motion was carried.
ADJOURNMENT.
CHAIRMAN: -That concludes the business of this meeting. Council stands adjourned until Tuesday, 6th March, 1962, at 4 p.m.
