"I have no information about these reported improvements to the Vehicular Ferry concourses, but, irrespective of them, I shall be pleased to follow up your suggestion. I understand that the main offenders are unlicensed hawkers."

"Resolved that the Standing Orders of this Council adopted at the meeting of the Council held on 28th June, 1955 be amended as follows:
Present Wording
There shall be a permanent Select Committee of the Whole Council for the purpose of considering and determining matters referred to it under para. (14) of this standing order.
No member of a Select Committee or of a Committee of the Whole Council
Committees, including Committees of the Whole Council
Any matter which is or has been under consideration by a Select Committee may be referred to a Committee of the Whole Council...

Meetings of Committees of the Whole Council.

Amended Wording

The proposer of a motion shall have a right to reply at the close of the debate upon such motion, immediately before it is put to the vote, or before the motion "That the debate be adjourned to the next meeting", "That the debate be adjourned sine die", or "That the Council do now adjourn", is put.
If an amendment is proposed the proposer of the amendment shall have no right of reply but the proposer of the original motion shall be entitled to exercise his right of reply, if he so wishes, at the close of the debate on the amendment.
No motion to rescind any resolution passed, and no motion or amendment to the same effect as one which has been lost, or proposed but not seconded, shall be proposed within
