HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL
I am glad that a proposal for a somewhat similar amenity has been put forward in this Council. My only fear is that perhaps it will prove a greater attraction to the old than to the young but time will tell. Members of this Council may yet find a further arena in which to display their friendly rivalries.
I should, of course, point out that the construction of such a pool will necessitate the provision of funds, the employment of an architect and the supply of water, but no doubt these problems can be overcome without too much difficulty. Much will depend on the size of the pool that is contemplated.
May I then take pleasure in supporting the motion.
MR. H. CHEONG-LEEN :- Mr. Chairman, I also would like to take pleasure in supporting it. At the same time I would perhaps like to ask my colleague Dr. Bell whether she has in mind that the boat pool be called the Bernacchi boat pool?
The question was put.
The Motion was carried unanimously.
