Rome, Nov. 14, Some 5,000,000 factory wor- kers throughout Italy walked off their jobs at 2 p.m. today, beginning a strike intended to force nation-wide wage in-
creases.
The industrial walkout is the latest and most serious of the series of strikes backed by both Communist and non-Communist unions.
Early reports said the general walkout was about 80 percent effective in the strongly indus- trial North and up to 50 percent effective in the less indus trialised areas.-United Press.
