Rome Blasted By Belgrade Over Trieste.

Belgrade, Apr. 20.—Mr Leo Mates, the Yugo- slav Deputy Foreign Minister, in a statement to the foreign press here today, said that his Govern- ment "strongly disapproved" of the Italian Govern- ment's anti-Yugoslav attitude in connection with Trieste. It considered it detrimental to inter- national co-operation, he added.

Mr Mates indicated, however, that Yugoslavia was ready now, as in the past, to enter into direct negotiations with Italy on the problem of the Free Territory. "But this does not depend on our Government alone. Mutual agreement means mutual desire for it," he said.

in hie statement Mr Mates, Yugoslavia by the peace treaty deplored the anti-Yugoslav with Italy. Among the hardest of these was the separation
