Sofia, Bulgaria, Feb. 23. —Questions which have baffled the world's historians for ages are raised by the discovery of Europe's most ancient writings by a Bulgarian scientist. Prof. Vladimir Georgiev, scientist who deciphered the 3,600-year-old Minos (Cretan) picturegraph writings on clay tablets, has thrown new light on the origins of the alphabet and on the migration of the Greek tribes into the Aegean basin, archaeologist Iván- Velkov said.
One important question raised by the discovery is whether the alphabet came originally from the Cretan or the Phoenicians, Velkov said.
