WHOOPING IT UP-These American Boy Scouts are putting on a show in New York for the benefit of 25 recently-arrived European war orphans. Dressed as Indians and Puritans, the Scouts gave the displaced children a welcome they'll always remember.

FISH SCALE FLOWERS --- Mrs Harry C. Issac of Randolph, Massachusetts, changed her hobby into a lucrative business. She treats ordinary fish scales and makes them into delicate, soft-coloured petals of roses to be worn in corsages at social functions.

ON GUARD--Policemen guarded an underground station in Paris against pos- sible sabotage when Franco went through a 24-hour general strike called by Communist and Socialist labour unions which demanded higher pay." Although
