London's Welcome To HMS Amethyst To Be
Relayed By Radio Hongkong
The City of London's welcome to HMS
Amethyst of Yangtse escape fame is to be relayed Monday by Radio Hongkong on Wednesday at 10.15 ́ p.m.
The broadcast will feature the speeches at the Lord Mayor's Banquet at the Guildhall which is to be attended by the company of HMS Amethyst.
Also present will be contingents from HMS London, HMS Consort and HMS Black Swan and the crew of the RAF Sunderland, which took part in an earlier attempt to assist the Amethyst out of the Yangtse. The scene at the banquet will be described by Frank Gillard.
