CRAIGENGOWER v.

THE BEST MATCH TOMORROW

By "RECORDER"

Army, who are top of the First Division of the Cricket League at the moment, have a bye this week-end and the programme, as a whole, is the most uninteresting of the season thus far.

Cralgengower against the Indian Recreation Club at Happy Valley looks the most promising game, though at Chater Road there is the intra-club match between the KCC's Scorpions-and-Optimista.

Both matches are "blood" affairs, but the Optimists this season will have to be at their best to extend the Scorpions. Though they are not as strong as they were last year, the Optimists are likely to be keener than they would be for another match and an afternoon at Chater Road will be well worth the while.

crossroads,

Army Soccer and boxing for the coming winter stand at the and, while the respective Secretaries, Colonels H. M. Prince and R. W. Liitlchales, are incorrigibly optimistic, there is no gainsaying the fact that both sports have been shorn, almost completely of their stars by the remorseless expiration periods of National Service. Both fook very much like a cornfield after the harvest, or like sheep after a visit from the shearers..

Boxing comes out bost. Something has been saved from the wreck, but the publication of the first Army Soccer eleven of the season which played: Cambridge University at Dulwich Hamlet's ground told its own story. Only right-half Stokoo of Newcastle United and contre-half Wilkins of Brighton and Hove Albion have previously appeared in military representative teams.
