Statement On Cripps' Illness

London, July 17-Mr Clement Attlee, the Prime Minister, will make a statement in the House of Commons tomorrow on the indisposition of Sir Stafford Cripps, the Chancellor of the Ex- chequer, who will leave London on Tuesday for a nursing home in Zurich, Switzerland, to have special treatment for a digestive ailment.

Mr Attlee will announce the arrangements for carrying on the work at the Treasury, which is now heavier than ever because of the various dis- cussions on the differences between the dollar and the non-dollar countries.

Mr Attlee himself may take general cliarge and Bir Stafford has two understudies in Mr Financial Glenvil Hall, 10 Secretary, and Mr Douglas Jay, the Economio Secretary.
