Russians Believed To

Be Sincere In Berlin

Heidelberg, July 5.-Mr John J. McCloy, designated as the first United States High Commissioner in Germany, told reporters here today that he believed the Russians to be sincere in their desire to renew amicable relations with the other occupation powers. Referring to his Berlin talks a few days ago with the Soviet Commander-in-Chief in "Germany, General Vassili Chuikov, Mr McCloy added: "I saw nothing in General Chuikov's attitude to indicate the contrary."
