Austria To Create Army

&

WHEN OCCUPATION TROOPS CARE WITHDRAWN

Vienna, June 22-An Austrian Army would be created when the Allied troops with- drew, Dr Leopold Figl, the Austrian Chan- cellor, told Reuter in a special interview today.

Dr Figl sald that this Army, together with the police, would undoubtedly be able to deal with any danger of a Communist bid to seize power. He hoped to secure Allied per- mission to establish at least part of the Army by September 1.

(This would give the Austrian Govern- ment about six months to prepare their armed forces before the Allied troops leave).

Campaign Το

Overthrow Tito Said To Have Failed

Belgrade, June 22.--Yugoslav leaders to- day pronounced the failure of what they called a "fqul" campaign by Russia to overthrow the regime of Marshal Tito. Tito's lieutenants at the same time reported that for all prac- tical purposes the remainder of the Cominform Bloc had broken off relations with Yugoslavia. They said Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Rumania had severed not only their political ties but even cultural and economic relations with Yugoslavia.
