London, May 11.-The Prime Minister, Mr Clement Attlee, today asked the House of Commons to approve the Ireland Bill which recognises the secession of the Irish Republic from the Commonwealth.

It makes legislative adjustments neces- sary to give effect to the British Government's policy of not regarding the new Republic as a foreign country or its citizens as foreigners. It also contains the statutory affirmation of the constitutional position and territorial in- tegrity of Northern Ireland.
