ENGLAND IN A VERY SOUND POSITION

Johannesburg, Feb. 15.-England finished the third day of the fourth Test match against South

South Africa declared at 257 for 9 wickets in reply to England's first innings total of 379.

Starting their second innings with a lend of 122 runs, England were 196 for 3 wickets at the close of play.
