DAMAGES $10,000-

CLAIM FOLLOWS TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

A claim for $10,000 damages said to have re- sulted from a traffic accident was brought at the Supreme Court this morning by a paper merchant, William Drysdale Brown, of 814 King's Road, against the Hongkong Hotel Garage Ltd, 14 Queen's Road and Cheong Kwong-yau, chauffeur.

The claim was heard before the Chief Justice, Sir Leslie Gibson. The Hon. Leo d'Almada (in- structed by Mr A. S. C. Comber) appeared for the plaintiff and Mr Brook A. Bernacchi (instructed by Mr D. B. Evans) represented the defendants.

Paris, Jan. 18.-Mr Hugh Dalton, leader of the British delegation, told the six-power European Unity Committee in Paris today that the British Government proposes that Strasbourg, capital of Alsace, be the seat of the proposed "Council of Europe."
