15 YEARS FOR YOKOHATA

Man Who Ill-Treated S'hai Residents

Sentence of 15 years' imprisonment was passed by the War Crimes Court at Lyemun Barracks this morning on Sgt-Major Yoltohata Toshiro, 35, a member of the Legal Section of the Shanghai Gendarmerie during 1942, for being concerned in the ill-treatment of Shanghai residents.

The sentence is subject to confirmation, and the Defence Counsel was reminded by the Court regard- ing the procedure to be adopted in the event of a petition being submitted to higher authorities.

The

minutes before pronouncing Fen-

Yokoliata declined to give any evidenco or make any statement on

his own behalf.
