"NOT FOR THE THOMAS CUP,”
'A' SINGAPORE DANE SAYS
“MALAYANS WILL NOT BEAT DANES”
By KEN JALLEH
"For the last ten years, Denmark has ruled Europe as far as badminton is concerned. Her players have remained practically_unbeaten. It is not likely that Malaya can beat Denmark if they should meet in the final of the Thomas Cup com- petition."
.
This is the considered opinion of a Danish resident of Singapore who, because he does not want to be drawn into any controversy, wishes to remain anonymous.
He is, however, well qualified to express an opinion as ho has taken part in first-class matches in Denmark, and went as far as the singles quarter-finals in the Danish championship at Copenhagon in 1938.

There are as many badminton halia in Denmark as there are foot- ball fields in Singapore, and know - ior as far back as 1939 that there would be an international badminton tournament some day, the Danes have prepared themselves for such a tournament."
