New York, Aug. 9.-In the stock market today, Rail- road issues led a decline in the slowest trading session In five months. Losses throughout the main list were mostly fractional, but, Railroad stocks had losses ranging over more than a point.

The market started the session "on a moderately higher note, but this did not last long and prices started to sag. As trading progressed prices continued to decinie, closing 'nt to lows of the day.

There was nothing in the news to Influence the security market, but the commodity markets were influenced by a sharp break in cotton, which elosed US$2.15 to $2.05 per bale lo- wer. The liquidating movement in cotton began when the Government; estimated that the 1948 cotton crop i would be the best in years, with a possibility of being the seventh lar gest on record.

In Chicago wheat and rye lost two to 2-4 cents per bushel, corn dropped 1-% to 3-5 cents, and ants ensed to cents.

The Department said those areas shipped only 1,758 tons in all in 1947 whereas in the first six months of this year exports to the Netherlands totalled 8,201 tons.
