A cocktail party was given aboard the now motor ship, Aros, on her arrival hero from Australia on Wednesday. TYPHOON—Although experiencing

a very strong blow, Hongkong fortunately missed the full forco of the typhoon on Tuesday. Among the major casualties was the steamer Haldis (loft), which was blown broadside on against the breakwater at Yaumati from her anchorage at Shamshuipo. The Kamala Circus, which has been giving performances on the ground next to Signal Hill, Tsimshatsui, was forced to take down its tonts for rafaty's sake, Picture at right shows the scene at the, circus the next morning.
