THE 1948 annual meeting of the Hongkong Jockey Club opened in brilliant weather last Saturday. Largo crowds packed the standi and closures throughout the first three days of the meating. Picture on the top right hand corner of the page gives an idea of the large attendance on Derby Day. Above, the Derby winner, Ataman, ridden by Mr E. A. Brodie, is scen being cheered in after winning the classic. The Ladies' Purse was won by Mr M. M.
