Malaya's Decision To Curtail Imports From America Criticised

The Straits Times, most widely circulated English language newspaper in Malaya, has editorially criticised the colonial government's curtailment of imports from the United States, asserting that import cuts may raise the cost of living and cause labour unrest and social instability.
