Miami, Fla-Those frustrated fellows who tried to grow hair on a billiard ball could take a lesson from Dr G. J. Gerson, a Miami optometrist, and his fellow hydroponists.

They are raising valuable farm crops on solid concrete...

The word "hydroponist" indicates that Gerson is one of the initiates in the new agricul- tural science of hydroponics. On one nere of con- crete troughs, with the aid of test tubes, chemicals and an elementary knowledge of plumbing, he raised 18 times the crop that old- fashioned farmers mannged to wrestle from a plot of soil the same size.
