Reliable political sources said tonight that Britain would transfer power to a Dominion government or governments in India within three months.

The report came on the eve of Viceroy Viscount Mountbatten's crucial con- ference tomorrow with Hindu, Moslem and Sikh leaders, to whom he will pre- sent his plan of procedure of the British withdrawal from India.
