Britain Turning The

Shaw Was An Idea

London, Feb. 15. George Bernard Shaw pro- posed that England guard against another power crisis through harnessing the violent tides which sweop through the narrow inlets of northern Scotland to obtain power, but observed gloomily. that it generally took about 30 years for his ideas to attract any atten- tion.

The playwright in a letter to the London Times said he had asked years ago why power was not hamessed and engineers said they know how to capture only a negligible part of water power. "I told them they'd better find out," Shaw add- ed.-Associated Press.
