Some three divisions of British troops and 3,000 British* police garrisoned the Holy Land last year, 1946. Ench month of the year was marked by terrorism-the worst month being November.

The biggest single incident was the bombing of the Hotel King David in July-91 dead, 50 injured.

Throughout the year the British police and army, as well as Amb and Jewish supernumerary police, suffered ensunlties. The casualties break down like this: British army; Killed 45; wounded $3. Bullish paffeé: Killed 28: wounded 36. More than 300 clyllians have been falled or wounded in terrorist netivities.

The year saw stonings, minings, bombings and rail and rond sabotage. Kidnappings numbered 10--seven offleers and three men. There were four floggings-Sono afficer and three men.

ARMS CAPTURED FROM JEWS

During the 12-month period, arms captured by the Britch from Jews included more than 400 rifles, more than 300 pistols, over 100 mortara, Da machine or sub-machine guns and nearly 6,000 grenadů bombs. Four hundred thousand rounds of ammunition were seized;
