A NEW ORGANISATION IN GREAT BRITAIN, DESCRIBING ITSELF AS THE "NATIONAL GUARD," IS BELIEVED TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SETTING FIRE TO A SYNAGOGUE IN THE EAST END OF LONDON EARLY TO-DAY. ONE OF THE HOLY SCROLLS, WAS BURNED,

The fire followed a telephone call to a London news agency office by an unknown man who described himself as "a representative of the National Guard,” and added that "a synagogue was destroyed by fire in Lea Bridge Road to-night.
