CHUNGKING, Sept. 28 (UP),—It is authoritatively stated that the Chinese High Command is very confident of `n large- scale success in the Changsha battle, regardless of the fate of the city as the Chinese are employing large armies, including con- sidorable reinforcements for one of the biggest mopping-up moves against six Japanese divisions.

Civil Servants' Cross-Harbour Race

There were 31 entrants, including (wo women and three children, in the annual Harbour Itace held by the Hongkong Chinese Civli Ser- vants' Club yesterday,

All the participants completed the course, which began from Sha. Kwo Leng near Kowloon City and ended at the Club's Pavilion ni North Point, a distance of about 1.000 metres.
