·Periodically over these many months now one has read challenges in the newspapers, and one has listened to a few individual moans that boxing in the Colony is dead, buried and turned to dust, for it does seem that nothing short of a visit by Joe Louis could stir the population into, anything like the faintest sign of interest.

A few years ago, Len Collins, one time amateur boxing champion of

The Police Reserve team make a very determined bid for the Grasett Challenge Trophy when they fired their match against the Police "A" team during the period, July 20 to August 3. Although the latter returned their highest score of the season they could not compete.successfully against the excellent marksmanship of P. H. Thong and his team niates.
