NEW YORK, July 3 (Reuter).- The United States Army is forming 22 fast striking anti-tank battalion consisting of existing infantry and feld artillery units, declared. Col. Stimson, Secretary for War, to-day. The new units use new self-pro- pelled artillery pieces, including a Prevised" 75-millimetre gun.
Mr Stimson believed that this new type of anti-tank furce would be the first used by any Army in the world. ile also announced the formation of an experimental division which motorised, would be
completely wou
and strengthened armed heavily with tanks. He said that although would be reduced from the Imen 15,550 to 14,000, the new division would have about 50 per cent more fire power.
Mr Stimson declined to comment on reports that the Panama Canali might be closed to Japanese ships,

Hitherto no governor had attempt ed to reach these areas by road, particularly in the mensoon, and the Guvernor frequently waded knee deep across ravines where cars are ferried by country rafts.
Tough Natural Barrier The icur has emphasised the tough- ness of the natural barriers of the Tenasserin hills and the remarkable increase of Burma's armed strength: and the growth of aerodromes.
Soldier and farmer both came in for the Governor's attention because as former Minister of Agriculture and a well-known figure in the agricul tural world, Sir Reginald has evinced the keenest interest in the lot of the agriculturist whose problems he wishes to study under the worst can- ditions of weather.
