According to a Bucharest message, German mechanised forces have begun to march for. ward in Bukovina, the northern province of Rumania which Rumania lost to the U.S.S.R., at the same time as Bessarabia.

The Rumanian High Command, says “United Pross", in a report from Bucharest, has an- nounced that German and Rumanian troops jointly crossed the Pruth River and are now marching into Bessarabia and Bukovina.

"United Press" correspondents in Berlin quote the Nazi official news agency to the effect that German formations are carrying out air attacks against Russian airfields and troop concentrations, fortifications and barracks.

It is claimed that the Germans have already achieved a considerable advantage as a result of these attacks as well as through the destruction of enemy planes in air, battles.

The High Command reports | that the Luftwaffe, since early on Sunday morning has been carrying out the main attacks in t characteristic German fashion.

Preparations are being made for various large-scale operations on the Eastern Front.
