(By "Tinker")
WHAT BASEBALLERS would call “spring sea- son form" among swimmers has been nothing if not surprising, for from the fow galas that have already been held the fact emerges that local, swimmers are ready to carry on from where they left off at the end of last year.

Guest-Madar Win On Extra Head
:
TWO MATCHES in the Open Pairs Lawn Bowls Cham- pionship were played yesterday, one at the Kowloon Football Club and the other at the Police R. C. In the first, T. A. Madar and A. E. P. Guest beat V, C. Dixon and H. E. Drew 21-20 on the extra head played, while in the second U. A. and A. H. Rumjahn easily beat C. F. Needham and A. Brooksbank 24-14.
The Kowloon F.C. rame was definitely Die better of the two. Guest and Madar got away, to a fino start and had scored shots before Dixon and Drew registered A single. From 0-1 the score went to 12-4, at which period Dixon and Drew scored 3,'0, 3 and 4 to tako the lead at 14-13!
The green was on the fast side, and both the Bowling Green players had its measure. But once more the Kowloon C.C, combination shot off into a lead that seemed to put the odds much in their favour when they registered 1, 3 and 2 to lead 10-14 on the 17th end.
Pendulum Struggle
Two 2's, however, brought Drew and partner back into the fray, leav- ing them one shot behind on the 18th end. A single for the K.C.C. and then a 2 for the Bowling Green players put them on level terms nt 20-all on the 21st head.
The extra head opened tensely. Dixon drew thros fine woods to the jack for a count of three, but with his last, Guest edged in a _beauty-to-claim the lie.-
