ADVANCING on djebel DRUZ LONDON, June 8 (Router),—Allied forces in Syria are advancing in the direction of Djebel Druz, according to a Vichy dispatch to the official German news agency.

Twenty-five miles inside Syria, Djobel Druz is almost due south of Damascus, the scene of General Allenbury's triumph in the last war and east of the Soa of Galilee.

FRENCH BLOCK ROADS CAIRO, June 8 (Reuter). The likely line of advance is the most natural one, along the coast road through

Saida or Beirut.

It is known that the French have some blocks on "the road but it is uncertain whether these are real military ebstacles or merely traffic control blocks such as were well-known to those travelling in France in wartime.

The French in Syria were deprived of many of their weapons by the Armistice Commission, but it is known that they have some tanks and armoured cars.
