THE SECOND SET saw a revision of lactics on the part of Deane and Miss Smalley. They adopted a more aggressive style and it succeeded in carrying them through. They took a 5-2 lead, and though Theobald and Mrs Terrible took the next, the oven- tual winners claimed the 9th game for-tho-sot-al-6-3.

The final set opened in promising style. The score was 2-all at the end of the 4th game, but Deune and Miss Smalley broke through the op- posing service and once more took a 5-2 lend.
