LONDON, MAY 5 (REUTER).—IT IS NOW CONFIRMED IN LONDON THAT THE TURKISH GOVERNMENT HAVE OFFERED TO MEDIATE BETWEEN THE BRITISH AND IRAQI GOVERNMENTS, SAYS "REUTER'S" DIPLOMATIC CORRESPONDENT.

THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT, WHILE GREATLY APPRECIATING. THE FRIENDLY MOTIVE OF THE TURKISH GOVERNMENT, HAVE BEEN COMPELLED TO POINT OUT THAT THE ESSENTIAL PREREQUISITE OF ENTERING INTO ANY NEGOTIATIONS IS THE WITH- DRAWAL OF IRAQI TROOPS FROM HABBANIYAH.
