Nazi Fraus And French Charmers

According to the Berlin corre- spondent of the "Chicago Dally Nows," the latest problem which faces the Nazi leaders is to con- vince the women of Germany that their husbands are not suc cumbing to the blandishments of the ladies of France.

An article in the current issue of the "Schwarzekorps" scolds irresponsible gossipers, and offers "relief and comfort to hearts which are unnecessarily tortured."

It says: "No, dear German women, there is nothing in the story of the warrior from the north who suc- cumbs to the charms of the deceiving- the siren and, like Tannhauser in Venusberg mountain, forgets his own home In the process."

German wives, the article adds, "khow, of course, that their men would not behave improperly. but the worm gnaws at their licarts, and next time their men come home and do not sleep because the coffee they bring with them is too strong, then it is the charming French women who have appeared to them in their sleep,"

No More Ice Cream In Italy

Ice-cream and pastry are to be barred in Italy, and the ration of oil, butter and pork is to be cut to 12 ounces per person monthly, half the previous allowance.

:

A GROUP of Italians in the United States is now making what appears to be a serious effort to form a Free Italy body on the lines of the Free French organisation of General de Gaulle.

This movement would have two objectives: 1. Establishment in the U. S. of an anti- Fascist Italian Government which would be headed by Count Carlo Sforza, formerly Foreign Minister in Italy, and who was Italian Ambassador to France when Mussolini came to power. Count-Sforza is now locturer at Virginia University.
