TWO and a half years after he vanished into the Arctic wastes of Baffin Island, Thomas Henry Manning, 29-years-old ex-Harrow and Cambridge man, has returned to civilisation. The news of his return is announced in cable from Mon- treal. It said simply: "Manning English Arctic explorer returned civilisation to- day.".
