WASHINGTON, Apr. 16 (Reuter)--Mr Federal Loan Administrator, announced that a loan of $40,000,- 000 would be granted to Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corpora- tion "in line with the United States Government to require liquidation of British-owned American investments for the pur- pose of providing funds for the purchase of shipping in this country."
Brown and Williamson will apply $15,000,000 to liquidate their domeS- tie indebtedners and will furn over the remainder to the parent company", the British American Tobacco Com- pany, which in turn will hand this British Government to um to the for
