Keenness Rewarded With Deserved "Double"

Civil Service C.C. Averages

Hearty congratulations to the K.C.C. second oleven in winning the Second Division Shield! As their first eleven have already achieved a similar success in the First Division the Club can congra- tulate itself on having brought off the double. This is of course no record.

It has been done several times before and. 1 think quite a lot depends on the amount of dynamic interest in cricket which exists in any particular Club during

Season.

Of course you have to have the players as well! But a great deal does depend upon, a keen spirit in all. K.C.C. has always been fortunate in that way and there is perhaps a reason for it.

If I mistake not, to all its members it represents the centre of their social life. Nol only arc tlie cricketers, bowlers and tennis play- ers catered for during the daylight but there always seems to be some entertainment coming off in the evening. Dances and Amateur pro- ductions of plays seem frequent! And so the Club is held together. This of course applies to Crálgen-: gower and they have had their great days in the cricket line.
