Fanling's Final Steeple-chase Meeting

First Extra Meeting At Happy Valley

So Nice Shows Improvement

THERE IS A SAGE PARADOX that moans are trumps when Saturday breaks wet, but where did the men of the turf go last Saturday when the First Extra Race Meeting was postponed. Let us all.hope that there will be no further postponement, for judging from the atmospheric conditions it looks that we shall see blue akies to-morrow.

Ponies Over 134 Miles

CAPT. FOSTER sees with delight the increase of stake money for the lower positions in the two main events, namely the Fanling Grand Na- tional confined to China ponies, and the Australian Grand National for Australian ponies.

The above two races are the major steeplechasing contests of the last meet under the auspices of the Fanling Dublin H'cap Hunt and Race Club to be held at Kwanti on Sunday, and there are in addition four handicap flat events.
