Britain Needs 100,000 Women for War Work

LONDON, Mar. 9 (Reuter).—Mr Ernest Bevin, Minister of Labour and National Service, made momentous announcements In north England to-day.

At Newcastle-on-Tyne he appealed for 100,000 women for war work, mainly shell-filling, even before the registration of women for such work comes into force.

Provision would be made for looking after the children of married women workers through Government financial aid and day nursery centres.
